Grades 1 through 8

The school day at Dearborn Christian School begins at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 3:30 p.m. Every week begins with Chapel on Monday morning. Chapel lasts for approximately thirty minutes and includes singing. Most weeks' chapel services includes a short inspirational talk. Parents are invited to attend. Devotions, Bible reading and prayer are daily activities that begin each day. We teach the presence of God in all subject material as well as in attitudes, values, and relationships.

In our combined classes, each grade receives instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, language arts, science, social studies and Bible. First and second grades are combined only part of the day, for subjects such as science, social studies and Bible. This gives students the benefit of learning from those ahead and helping those behind them in age.
DCS also offers weekly classes in Computer Skills for students in grades 2 through 8, and Art for students in grades 1 through 8. Twice a week, students in Kindergraten through 8th grade attend Music and students in grades 1 through 8 attend Physical Education. Band is available for interested students, grades 5 through 8, for a small additional fee. DCS welcomes home school students to participate in any of these classes for a small fee.
