Admissions process
At Dearborn Christian School, the application process is great way to see what sets DCS apart. Applicants can apply online or request an application packet. In the application, we will pass on critical information to the family, including
- the application form
- Pastor's letter request
- tuition
- our statement of faith
- our financial commitment agreement
- our parental participation commitment agreement
- and a copy of DCS' code of conduct and homework policies
Once the application is submitted, a member of our parent-run school board interviews all parents making the application, along with our school's principal. At this interview, the parents are made aware of the nature, purpose and program of Dearborn Christian School. While we understand that both parents may not be available for this interview, we request that both attempt to make arrangements to attend.
The interview committee may at its discretion employ either academic or psychological testing with the parents' consent.
Parents applying at Dearborn Christian School should express commitment to
- a Christian atmosphere
- education in both home and school
- and be supportive of the school philosophy and purpose
Regular church attendance is required and a Pastor's letter is sent to the church attended by the applicant's family requesting information on participation.
Before a decision can be made for placement into Dearborn Christian School, the following information should be received and reviewed by the school administrator:
- results of any standardized tests
- appraisal by former teacher
- any other available information
- testing by Dearborn Christian School, if required
Response to the application is given within one week after the next regularly scheduled Board meeting.
If you have any questions regarding the application process or requirements, please visit our information request page and someone will contact you shortly.
